The “Recurring Annual Cost for Internet Access” will provide all Internet Access service up to the limit of any Internet transport capacity in service at your site during the contract term reflected on your E-rate quote (you likely now have Internet transport capacity provided by a vendor such as: Charter, Time Warner Cable, AT&T). For example, if your Internet transport capacity is 100Mbps, WiscNet will provide 100Mbps Internet access service; if it is 500Mbps, WiscNet will provide 500Mbps; if it is 1Gbps, WiscNet will provide 1Gbps; if it is greater than 1Gbps WiscNet will provide internet access service up to the capacity of your Internet transport.

WiscNet Firewall Service - Cisco ASA 5515

Our 1 Gig capable firewall service utilizes a Cisco ASA5515-K9- description:  ASA 5515-X with SW 6GE Data 1GE Mgmt AC 3DES/AES and provides basic firewall services. It is capable of handling speeds up to 1Gpbs. The service encompasses firewall, IPSEC, and Site-to-Site VPN, NAT, VLAN, DNS forwarding, etc. These together make a highly customizable service capable of meeting your institution's specific needs. As a benefit of WiscNet's ownership of the equipment, we manage, maintain, monitor, and provide SmartNet warranties on the firewall. This service to our members includes free replacements and shipment to our members if the firewall were ever to become faulty. The technical support of the service is included in the service pricing quoted above. Our technical support staff are available via email or phone, and our members immediately speak to an expert able to address and correct issues with the service.

WiscNet Firewall Service - FortiGate Models

Our Firewall service utilizes a FortiGate device and provides basic firewall services.  It is capable of handling speeds up to 10 Gbps.  The service encompasses firewall, IPSEC and Site-to-Site VPN, NAT, VLAN, DNS forwarding, etc.  These together make a highly customizable service capable of meeting your institution's specific needs.  As a benefit of WiscNet's ownership of the equipment, we manage, maintain, monitor, and provide warranties on the firewall.  This service to our members includes free replacements and shipment to our members if the firewall were ever to become faulty.

The Firewall service is also available with a Unified Threat Management (UTM) Bundle included.  This bundle provides next-generation firewall services such as Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP), Intrusion Protection System (IPS), anti-virus, anti-spam, and web filtering.  The UTM portion is 40% of the annual service fee and is not e-rate eligible.
