Error rendering macro 'children'

Cannot invoke "com.atlassian.confluence.spaces.Space.getId()" because "space" is null

Instructions on how gain console access on WiscNet Managed CPE's. This may be required if there is some sort of failure or troubleshooting required on the device.

Software

A terminal applications is required. Many choices exist, some examples below. All will be configured as: 

  • Serial port: varies
  • Speed: 9600
  • Data Bits: 8
  • Stop Bits: 1x
  • Flow Control: 1

ASR920

ASR920 supports two methods of console connectivity. "Serial Port" connects to port 8 below. "USB Port" connects to port 17 below.

RS232 Serial port


Port 8 on diagram. This is a USB-A shaped RS232 port (traditionally DB9/RJ45) and is NOT an actual USB port.

Using this port requires:

  1. Cisco A920-CONS-KIT-S adapter USB-A to RJ45 female
  2. RS232 port on laptop/PC. Traditionally a USB to DE9 cable
  3. Cisco rollover console cable. Traditionally RJ45 male to DB-9 female, light blue


items 2 and 3 above are sometimes consolidated in to a single USB-A or USB-C to RJ45 male cable

Connect to port 8 on diagram above (pictured connected on right)

Set terminal software to 9600-N-8-1




USB port


Port 17 on diagram. Requires:

  1. USB-A to USB-A cable, such as Monoprice 5443
  2. Drivers: asr-9xx_usbconsole_drivers.zip







ME3400

Serial port


Requires

  1. RS232 port on laptop/PC. Traditionally a USB to DE9 cable
  2. Cisco rollover console cable. Traditionally RJ45 male to DB-9 female
  3. Note that above are sometimes consolidated in to a single USB-A or USB-C to RJ45 male cable
