Before WiscNet can become a full eduroam Support Organization (eSO), WiscNet must go through the eduroam Support Organization (eSO) On-Ramp process.
April 1, 2025: Annual eduroam Support Organization Webinar & Opening of 2025 On-Ramp Period
April 25, 2025: Deadline for Proposals
May 2-5 2025: Proposals Selected and Announced
If WiscNet's proposal is accepted, the eduroam Support Organization (eSO) On-Ramp process begins
The eduroam Support Organization (eSO) On-Ramp process is designed to provide WiscNet with an opportunity to develop the processes, resources, and relationships to succeed as WiscNet moves toward full participation in the program.
During this time, Internet2/inCommon will work with WiscNet to finalize the contracting portion of the eduroam Support Organization (eSO) program, and WiscNet can participate with limited program features for the remainder of the 2025 calendar year.
WiscNet can bring up to five K12 districts, libraries, museums, or hotspot organizations into the On-Ramp process.
WiscNet and those participating with WiscNet will have all program fees waived.
After spending the May 2025 - December 2025 On-Ramp process period working with pilot WiscNet members WiscNet will join the next eduroam Support Organization (eSO) cohorts (other state research and education networks) on January 1, 2026.
Pending: public eduroam configuration documentation.
